From HOD’s desk

                                     The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering was established in 2007 with an intake capacity of 60 which eventually has increased to current intake of 120.  The main objective of the department is to impart strong background of theory and practical in core electronics, radio and Light wave communication including satellite, wireless and Optical Communication Systems, Television Data Communication etc.  The Electronics and Telecommunication department of our college is one of the best and largest departments with its investment in equipments & software over Rs.1.3 crore, excellent infrastructural facilities with 6 classrooms with LCD, OHP projection facilities, 12 laboratories and other amenities along with departmental library. All the laboratories are designed as per AICTE norms and curriculum of University of Pune. Presently department has 1 Professor, 1 Associate professor,  6 Assistant Professors out of which 2 are pursuing Ph.D. and 14 lecturers. Most of the staff members have post graduates degrees. Remaining are pursuing their M.E degrees. Staff members have published research papers in reputed journals, International and National conferences organized in India and abroad. E&TC graduates find wide opportunities in the growing communications era of today and also aims at creating a vibrant and stronger India through Electronics and Tele-Communication Technology. The course focuses on the design, construction and management of electronic circuits, communication systems, electronic control systems and instrumentation systems.
                     We have good Results in the University of Pune Examinations. Mr. Mandar Ingale, student of first batch passed out from this department will secure 2nd rank in University of Pune in the B.E (E&TC) final year examination May-2011, also he has secured 7th rank in university in TE (E&TC) exam. May-2010. We encourage participation of students in various co- curricular and extra- curricular activities. Our students have bagged several prizes in different technical seminars; paper presentations, project competitions etc as well as in prestigious cultural events like Sinhgad Karandak, Purshottam Karandak, Firodia Karandak etc and many sports events
                      Every year Department conducts two-three different workshops for student & staff development. Staff members are also involved in consultation and research project. Last year (2010-11) we received the funds of Rs.175000/- from University of Pune for different activities.           
                       For next academic year we are planning to start a PG degree course. Department is in the process of establishment of IEEE & IETE student chapters, also department is planning to start Center of Excellence in the subjects like VLSI & Embedded systems. We are also planning to make 1-2 MOUs with different industries for different tasks. We are committed to produce not only good engineers but good human beings also.
 
Short Term Goals:
•    To achieve best results at university level.
•    To start consultancy and R&D activities in our department.
•    To promote staff members for higher studies & research.
•    To improve continuously quality of teaching by assimilating knowledge of upcoming technology & new areas by attending and organizing various conferences, workshops & STTPs.
 
Long Term Goals:
•    To start PG degree course & Ph.D. programme.
•    To start R & D centre.
•    To develop  industry institute interaction cell for students & staff.
